toss Linden Park CC - 1st XI won the toss and batted
You have to say a comfortable win against one of the supposed top sides, despite as their skipper said a weakened team it should even things up. That makes them a two-man team, what sort of side is that!
Anyway despite the cock of a captain, which made you even more determined to win, we started this week pretty well, having lost the toss and put in the field, only having 8 players to start off with because Feisty decided to stop on a roundabout and refused to move until the convoy stopped playing silly buggers and Lawsie had to go back and pick Dom up because he was travelling with Feisty, they only had 27 off 10 overs before Lawsie and Dom appeared on the field.
Dom bowled well and was unlucky to only pick up 1 wicket and AA picked up a single wicket, but Linden Park's run rate was just about 3 an over. In the last 15ish overs they then only scored about 30 odd runs and lost 8 wickets. Heathy was outstanding and bowled a great line and length, the best I’ve seen him bowl to date, and fully deserved his 4 wickets, likewise Bear with his 3. It's getting boring though as he does it week in week out.
Amazingly Hobo got a catch behind the stops to top it all (I mean that in an actual chance went to him not that he actually caught one!) and kept the best I’ve seen him (I thought anyway), easily the best in the league to date. AA’s customary run out finished off Linden Park on 168 in the 49th over.
A 1 hour delay for rain before we started our innings, but then we got stuck right in, losing Pards fairly early on, and Linden Park were not keen to play making lots of excuses. AA and Hickers took their bowling attack apart including a South African bowler with a very dubious straight arm throwing type action. After 30 overs it was all over with AA 111 not out and Hickers 48 not out (Only one wild wahoo shot that normally ends up in a wicket), Linden Park were completely deflated. As Bear said to their skipper after the game “Good job your two players were missing to even up the game !!! (Grinning like he does)
An all round entertaining day what with Feisty and his car, Heathy,AA and Hickers destroying the oppo, the lorry trying to dismantle the car park opposite and the fence around the ground and the kids up on the rock baring their arses and shouting abusive words whilst we were batting.
We are truly a team in its fullest sense, sterner tests await us, we will have no problem if we carry on like we are, in fact I’m positive we could even take it up another gear or two!

NB Feisty deserves a special mention for still turning up despite all that had happened, for only touching the ball twice, for taking it all in good part despite the severe ribbing and fineage and his wife for coming all that way and waiting all day to take him home. Good effort!
